I picked my 95 855 up at garage today. Had FSD's installed with new springs all around. Now I gots these 2 warning lights on and I can't clear them, ABS code 312. Right front wheel sensor open/short. Did he bust a wire or crush wire in with a bolt? I know ABS module is near strut bolts, but how the heck did this happen? Not going to this guy again.

Why don't you just take it back to him and ask him to fix the problem? Maybe he didn't drive the car afterwards and hence never even saw the lights were on. Just try asking him for some customer service...

:( check if he had forgot to plug in the connectors on the hub for the abs wheel sensors. it's possible he may have left them unplugged.

Agreed ^^^^^^^^^

Just take it back to him, he probably pinched a wire or left one unplugged. Probably a simple fix. Just go in and nicely state your case ...I'm sure he will apologize and take care of it on the spot? I know I would ;)

Just got back from dropping off car with a pleasant note asking him to do just as y'all suggested. Very calm and reasonable. I was slightly ballistic because I also had them change cap and rotor and car seems to run a bit rough, but that could also be from my o2 sensor faults I need to deal with, thats on me. I also felt a wobble in the steering wheel, she might need an alignment after all that suspension work. I should have just got spring compression tools and strut nut spanner and did it myself. I noticed dings in my new wheels from the air ratchet. I wonder if they used a torque wrench or just slammed the lugs home with an impact gun. All this and I found out the shop owner was gone and one of his helper monkeys must have done the work. They are not Volvo mechanics, but they are my local guys and I try to support them. His wife was my kids day care provider 10-12 yrs ago, so I know them pretty well. The point was that the lamps were on and nobody checked it out or called to let me know. Car handles tons better and ride is much smoother, FSD's are awesome. I have a Volvo indie I go to but he is an hour away and I have to stay at a friends near by when I leave the car there. Next time I'm just gonna bite the bullet and go to them, I never have problems when I get my car back from them. They know Volvos, simple as that, and they take great pride in their work. I work in the electronics industry, and when I finish repairing, installing or fabricating an assembly I Q.C. it and check my work. Then I ask another tech to look at it. Simple procedure and I don't get rework. It is inconvenient for me to be without a car for a day, now it is 2 days. Doesn't anybody have pride and ownership of their work any more? Sad, very sad.

:( I agree tanker grin and bear it and take to the guys who you are more confident with. poor quality work on your car can leave u stranded in the fergin wilderness.

Part of my disgust is because of other folks pulling the same kinda crap this week that has nothing to do with my car, but I am bundling issues now. I will leave it at that before this thread goes off on a tangent/off topic. I got the VS support and counseling I needed. I'll post again when I get the car back tomorrow. I'm going to a NEC meet in CT Saturday, so I'll bitch and moan to those guys in person!!!   TRAVAPALOOZA HERE I COME, WHOO-HOO!!

You must align the front wheels when the struts come out. If they didn't do it, it needs to be done.

Just to add closure to this thread, the mechanic and I found the problem. When they pulled ABS plug off they pulled a pin out the back of connector housing. Easy fix. Then I showed him how to read my codes from the jumper box in the engine bay. He loved that, no reader needed. I do need an alignment but shop that does it next door was maxed out for a couple of days. I'll make appt. next week, early. All better now, glad I didn't lose my mind with mechanic.

Yes they can but the light should go out after key is cycled off and car is driven w/ all 4 wheels on the ground. However it throws a rear wheel sensor code as they are the non motion wheels. he had a front sensor signal
