The stock coolant return line worked after moving it down a hole, its close, but i had to bend and twist it so it didnt hit.

Unfortunately i have to call it a day so i can get to school, but more next friday. Will start work again after i get back.

Still to do: axels, bolt up all mounts, new compressor clutch, hook more ish up, alignment, fluids, and more.

IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVE!!!!!!!!!!! :D MUAH HAHAHAHAHA....

Finished it up tonight, went for a quick test drive, no leaks, no rattles. All is well. I dont have a rattle from the singlemass either, i had a rattle when i let off of the clutch with the dualmass, but i havent heard one yet.

Thanks guys, it really does feel awesome to have it back in action finally.

Did the first oil change today, clean and metal free, only 1k more miles to go till i can really get into it. Ive been easy on it this weekend but have around 225 miles on the new build now. Today was really the first time i got into boost at all, ran it up to 4k and about 8 psi. The boost controller is still turned all the way down to make sure i dont go crazy with it.

Just steadily putting miles on it, gonna drive it back to school 2.5 hours today, so that should help some.

O and SE6 is the annual southeast Tbricks meet.

A little update, mileage is ~1300 as of right now, did my last break in oil change and dropped in some mobil 1 synthetic. Bumped the boost up to 10-11psi and threw in a set of ngk spark plugs after i got a misfire from the volvo ones i was running. I have forgotten how it feels to actually get into the throttle on this thing...omg, even at the low pressure its way faster than it was before. But that is ofcourse because it was such a huge pos before. Now its just a moderate sized pos  And i hit a dead animal on the road today and got a piece of bone stuck in one of my tires <_< o well. As the paychecks roll in i have many many plans that need to materialize. 3" downpipe, angled turbine housing, and wideband are first up on the list, and of course a set of sweet gauge faces  The 16t isnt going to be on there for very long if i can help it, but due to me being a broke college student i may have to work around it untill i can afford turbo and tune. FMIC is also in planning along with porsche fronts and r rear brakes. Keep on the look out in the forsale forum, as my samcos will be up for sale as soon as i get around to doing the front mount. And i still need to put that compressor clutch on, but its getting cold, and i don need no a/c yo

But for now its stock turbo and forged internals...

spool baby spool...

Just checking in on the progress. good to see it's been up and running.

After reading another thread regarding single mass and dual mass flywheels related to Vin numbers, it seems that my 547197 (last 6 digits) indicates that I have a dual mass setup.

What real differences are there between single and dual mass? Any performance benefits to single? And if so, if/when I do a rebuild, what all is involved in the swap?

yeah, its running well, needs more turbo...soon ;)

The dualmass flywheel is a two piece design opposed to the one piece design of the singlemass. IIRC, it allows for flex or something, i cant recall exactly.

Single mass is a good bit lighter than the dualmass iirc. The real thing i was worried about was the strength of the dualmass, i didnt know the power limitations on it and as mine was in pretty sorry condition when i pulled it out i went ahead with the swap. Plus i was looking at going with the 850r clutch anyways.

The swap is pretty straight forward, mine was just bolt on, i had no issues at all, everything seemed to line up and go on great.

There were some with a no start problem i think, and it had to do with this bulletin, it has two do with switching two rpm sensor wires, but i think it would only effect certain year flywheels.

I just called erie vovo and asked them if they had a singlemass flywheel for a S70 and got it. Hope that helps, if you have anymore ?s feel free to ask!

The flywheel and the clutch pack were all i swapped, the flywheel came with its own bolts in it from erie, but aside from that nothing is changed. Like i said ive been on mine for over 2k now and havent seen a problem, everything lined up and bolted up fine. Alot of people who have done the swap complain of a clutch rattle afterwards, idk if its because of the lighter wheel or what, i have a rattle as well that sounds exactly like a clutch rattle, but it doesnt go away when you press the pedal in, idk. I would do what i did and while your researching on the matter ask around on the board, there are several people who have done or are going to do the swap.

sorry to hear you hit a dead animal... how did u manage that?

I live in the sticks where there are more animals than people  , it was dark, i have crap blue bulb low beams, o well, stuff happens. Luckily it was flat enough that all it messed up was the tire. No biggie, cost me a free tire plug and maybe an hour of not being lazy lol. Good thing its only lowered with the konis and eibachs or the r-bumper would have been toast.

Also, im gonna throw this out there...

Plans...still lol

GT3071R- most likely, though if i find a better option ill take it into consideration, still deciding on the compressor inlet i want though

internal gate- no need for an external, plus internal is way easier

LSD- duh

r mani- prob ceramic coated

3" downpipe and ipd exhaust- it will be ok for my power levels, plus it was fo free

Porches- look good, relatively cheap, stop fast

some sort of tune- will prob go to standalone later on, it depends on the funds at the time

sways, endlinks

make a good shifter

innovate, prob egts, all the other necessaries

Its gonna be crazy on the GT, it already spins through 2nd and chirps in 3rd on the 16t
