7 VII 7
I just bought some.... my front suspension feels a little loose... will these help?I was looking at the QBM and it said that..."shorting the endlinks you INCREASE stiffness in the anti-roll bar for INCREASE in understeer and less body roll""lengthening the endlinks you DECREASE the stiffness of the anit-roll bar for INCREASE in oversteer and more body roll"but I thought we said we wanted to lengthen the endlinks for stiffness and less body roll? tomtbone
After a tip from a fellow member and a call to a knowledgeable friend who had an older BMW 740 with these tie rods, I have decided to add this installation note to the Product Page:INSTALLATION NOTE:To extend lifespan and continued performance of the HD Endlinks, coat threads with an Anti-Corrosive/Seize compound. As is the case with any exposed threads in an outdoore climate, the threads will begin to seize together making them more difficult to adjust. Compounds by Permatex, Super Lube, etc. are readily available in all auto and hardware stores.

tomtbone
yeah i know you answered me.. but why would the QBM and his endlinks have different directions? They don't.Lengthening them INCREASES oversteerShorthening them INCREASES understeer

Raintracks
Just give the man a definite answer. Ok check this out, how about adjusting these HD links the same lenghth as the stock, is that the best way to get the best performance out of these or........is there another way? tomtbone
Its a balancing act, you have to find the position where you like it. That is why I have always said many times to start at the stock OEM length and go from there. Here is a good explanation from the QBM instructions, I think this pretty much explains it:
S70 R
you want them shorter! deal with understear, its FWD!

GShyneDM
They don't.Lengthening them INCREASES oversteerShorthening them INCREASES understeerQBM has settled on the generalized response "Just set them to stock length" hahaha i wonder why... SkyWriter
QBM has settled on the generalized response "Just set them to stock length" hahaha i wonder why...because if you are building an adjustable suspension it's more effective to adjust the length of the swaybar torque arm (that the endlink connects to) with multiple holes that you connect the endlink too. you have to wonder though... how stiff is the chassis? and for body roll; how well is it really anchored to the swaybar... couple of bushings, not much.
