Gladiator960
how are them tires treating you? And what model are they?
drPheta
Oops, didn't see that post.Tires are Continental ContiExtremeContact 215/45/17 ZR rated at 400 AA treadwear/traction. Excellent tire for $94 each. I can drive through a few inches of snow no problem, and they stick and corner very well for a sub $100 All Season Tire. They also had their run ins with a few potholes and such... no bubbling sidewall! I know my PZeros bubbled on a 1 inch deep pothole once. I was pissed. These tires have held up really well. They flex a bit more in the sidewall than some other tires, but as far as wear, traction, and comfort are concerned, these tires rock. I have a second set ready to replace these puppies. I got over 30,000 miles out of them, and now I'm at the wear bars.

Patrick.
cream yellow T5R/850Rs reign supreme IMO... but a black 850 N/A gets the job done as well p.s.- good move w/ the gold calipers... something different

drPheta
Nope, insurance gave me the BIG FU. Said that my statement under oath didn't "match up with their findings with their investigation". Whatever that means. I'm appealing it, and I have an idea of what they feel was "wrong". Remember the time stamps? Also, they claim that "engineers" found that my front brakes weren't replaced (even though I swapped out new calipers/pads and turned my rotors the weekend before the theft). So many stupid little misconstrued statements that they feel don't match up to their "investigation".To boot, they dropped my insurance and made a decision early in september. I called them for a status update in October, not knowing about the letter they mailed to my home in NJ in Sept. What did they tell me in October? "We haven't made a decision yet, but we'll know very soon." I was lucky enough to have gotten home in time to catch the letter before I had a lapse in my insurance coverage. I'm now with Geico, and I couldn't give two I crapped my pants and I love how it feels about what insurance I'm with now. They're all a bunch of asses in my eyes. Money owns their ethics, and I have a feeling that my first stolen car had to do with why they tried to find any way to not pay my claim.

At least you don't have a wagon, then I'd say your driving the short yellow bus. Fast, none the less, but it's like yout trying hard to tell everyone else...To each his own...PEACE! visit www.laughatrice.com

BeachRat
For the record, I respect that. Example: I hate wallpaper!←I should probably log in next time. Quick question: The caliper paint is going on this weekend. I have opted to remove the calipers from the rotor to avoid getting paint everywhere (I'm kinda sloppy when it comes to that stuff). I figured I should pull the brackets off and the pads out as well. Is it necessary to re-grease everything when I put it back together? I'm not putting new pads on or anything, I'm just taking everything apart to avoid painting the wrong parts... If this seems a little superfolous (sp?) and I should leave the pads in the brackets, let me know. Thanks!

Just make sure you clean the surface of the calipers VERY well, and you'll be good to go. :D
andrew_the_fox
If your rotors are that nasty, get some WD-40, Brake Cleaner, and a couple good wire brushes of different sizes. Some sand paper couldn't hurt either. WD-40, let it sit. Scrub. Brake cleaner. scrub while it's evaporating. Should be pretty clean. Don't forget to wear a mask or avoid breathing in the crap.LOL, or you know, drive somewhere and brake occasionaly. Cleans my rotors right up -+-EDIT-+- Just realized how old this post was haha. Sorry ADMINS and MODERATORS lol it's almost 1am where I am and I am totally delirious.
tendency
Look great! Wow, spray paint is definitely the way to go. I tried doing my rear ones with the paint brush variety and they didnt turn out near as nice I have to say.
