Pops Racer
I finished my suspension upgrades last week on my 95 855, and some of us had been wondering how FSD's ran. Most of you have Eibachs with 'em. I have the following set up , a little different than some I think. With the Koni's I have new stock front springs from Volvo, TME 855 overload springs in the rear. 17x7.5 rims, +40 offset w/General Exclaim UHP's 215/45/17. IPD sways front and rear. QBM end links and a CJ Yother strut tower brace. Also new rear spring seats and rear suspension arm anchorages. Only thing not 100% is I need an alignment , happening tomorrow. SO, I ran hi-way speed plus and maneuvered thru traffic well. Hi-speed corners, exit ramps were excellent. Nothing seemed stiff or mushy for that matter. Then went winding back roads. Very tight and responsive, did not feel like it would flip over the inside shoulder, very flat. I then went washboarding and manholing. This is were I noticed the FSD's. The car felt like a Cadillac. Gliding over crappy road surface. No chatter and front end held great. I was also very happy with the performance of the rear OL springs. I thought they might be stiff and chatter without a load, but not so. Rear end held great, no hop. Also, when I launch from a stop, the OL's help keep the front end down, and that helps tires grab. I recommend them for the wagon. I don't drive real hard but for me these have been the most satisfying mods. Some may find this set up too tall but I never felt like the car was out of balance. I may have the best handling station wagon in CT! This info is just my opinion.Oh snap, I just went over 200 posts!
