HelgaTheS80
I just wanted to throw one out there and see if any s80 owners have taken the plunge and tried to improve on the s80's comfy but otherwise sloppy handling characteristics.Did you see any improvements? I know this is by no means a sports car and it's not means to autocross....but I am looking for a better improvement over the awful IMO cornering and handling this car has.....as well as the TERRIBLE TURNING RADIUS!!!!!!!!What springs? Shocks? coilovers? etc????Input appreciated. I'm kinda trying to see if it's even worth the upgrades on this thing, because this car is kind of the black sheep as far as mods go.Peace. :D
Johann
Overall the Eiback/Koni combo does well on these cars. Turning radius is bad yes but you can get used to it.
SkyWriter
i have the H&R/Bilstein setup. it's pretty good. but i would like to tune the struts a tad. definitely do the endlink/swaybars and anything for the strut towers. for parking the car the turning radius isn't great (takes 2 point turn to get out of my garage vs the s70 which turns right out) it's fine for any other driving. all of this stuff is still off-the-shelf (although it may be out of stock - and they have to build some). E_S80
I'm thinking about the Koni FSDs with Eibach springs. I've heard really good things overall and it's not as expensive or harsh as the Koni coilovers. Once I get some money together that's the route I'm going. If I had the money, however, I'd be going with Koni coilovers.
HelgaTheS80
Yeah, I've heard that as well. I like my aftermarket wheels on my car but the car itself sits too high off the ground, almost like it's on stilts and kills the wheel/tire combo I have now. I think if I were to do it I'd go a step further and splurge for the sway bars, endlinks and QBM strutbar conversion. I hear these things really help ride characteristics, especially the strut bar conversion.Hey E_S80, whatever happened to the exhaust system you planned on doing anyways? Did you go the route I did?I'm getting kinda tired of the awful resonance mine has now.
