AnthonyR
My wife was driving our new Cadillac srx (what I replaced my 850 with) yesterday and hit a Ford F550 with a full load/trailer. She hit head on, she was going 60mph, and he was going 35mph. Besides the obviously bruises etc, she broke her jaw on the airbag, and her leg has some pains, but all in all, pretty good considering. TM850R
Ouch. Glad your wife is not too hurt. That could have been a lot worse. Im guessing the Caddy took the brunt of the damage.
matt b
 That's a nasty wreck. She is lucky to have 'just' the injuries you mentioned. I hope she gets well very soon.

Fudge_Brownie
Looks like the design worked. Made the car look real messed up in the front, but the cabin doesn't seem to be damaged much. They design cars to crush easy to absorb impact of crashes, making them look worse than you'd expect right? She's lucky the dog leash didn't clock her in the head on its way to ending up on the dash! Finish
looks like that was designed well.best wishes to your wife.
97Volvo850GLT
Glad your wife is ok.How's your dog? Was he/she in the truck? How did it happen and was the other driver/passenger hurt as well (pick up trucks don't have the same crumple behaviour as car platforms so transfers the impact energy to occupants in crashes like this). javadoc
At first I pictured her having rear ended the truck and thought that was a heck of a lot of damage for what would effectively be a 25mph impact (60 minus 35)... but head on? Wow, she's one lucky puppy, most people don't fair this well. Good job to the design folks, and thank goodness for modern engineering. Glad she's okay and I hope she heals fast. EricF
Wow Anthony, glad to see she is alright after that. It is a testament to how far safety has come in the last 20 or so years. Everyone thinking their old tank Volvos are safer than modern state of the art cars just because of the brand names need to take a look at things of this nature. Kudos to Cadillac, and best wishes to you and your wife :)
