Aluminum Door Rings...

Mike H.

Recommended Posts

For those that can remember way back in January I asked if anyone is interested in aluminum door rings to complement your aluminum pins. Here's my original thread:

Well, I'm happy to say that they are available. They have been tested on the P1 models, P2 models, S40/V50, XC90...

A few more threads for more information:

Order info can be found here:

Thanks!

IPD and Heico are the only ones left I think that are still selling pins. Unless the VS member who made and sold them still has them in stock (username escapes me).

I'm the one that made them before. The next ones I'm going to make are going to be anodized (clear, black, laser blue, etc.) but that is a ways off (months). The new ones will also have delrin inserts instead of nylon.

Why are you swapping to Delrin? Seems to me that there are cheaper materials that are just as easy to machine. Just curious.

These rings would be nicer IMO in Black or Graphite instead of Chrome. There is only 1 guy thats Chromed out enough for these rings. OWNED

Where does it say anywhere that they are chrome? Even by looking at his pics they are brushed aluminum.

Fine Silver, still too bright for most interiors.

Why, so those with aluminum door pins can be mismatched? Yeah, that makes sense. They are intended to match the aluminum door pins.

BTW- there is a huge difference between silver and chrome. You may want to get your eyes checked if you say there isn't.

Im not saying that Chrome is the same as Silver, what Im saying is that both are too light for someone with the Tan interior. Black would look much better. And dont they make black aluminum pins? I was just suggesting to the OP that if he could come up with a GB for some Black ones he might get some more buyers.

You need to chill out....

I don't need to chill out, I'm fine, thanks. :D

AFIK, the only door pins available are the brushed aluminum, unless someone one off had theirs anodized. That being said, I am not sure black would make much sense, nor would they sell that well.
