Looking At A B6 Passat

Anyone have tips or some interesting info on these cars ('07 sedan OR wagon)? I've been doing a bit of reading on Vortex and some general auto sites. I'm still curious if any VS guys have something to ad. Originally, I wanted a diesel wagon, but now I've come to realize that is difficult to find.

They're decent cars. You should hold out for a diesel.

I drove the VR6 version last night. Originally, I was shopping for a new R, but the VW 'feels' nicer. If I can't get a diesel the 3.6 seems like a good choice.

I know that VW's had funky electrical issues. The '03 Jetta (diesel, but not the same engine as what you'd get) that's floating in my family has had these issues, but they have all been minor and under warranty. Back up light switch, some glow plug relays, etc....

Diesel: torque, lovely.

My best friend has one, they have some quirks for sure, like the sweet lucas brakes in the back that need a special tool to be compressed back together. Or the fact that the tranny fluid cant be drained at home becuase there is no drain hole (yes i know there are ways to do with the the dipstick, but that is a PITA. Hers has had most of the plastic come off at some point in time, and bottom line the 1.8t is way too small for the B6 series Passat. (Her boyfriend recently got an 850 ftw)

A friend of mine just sold his 2003 jetta tdi wagon for 21,700, with 60k on it. That's $700 MORE than he paid for it!

I considered the B6 a while back. After driving it a few times it really started boring me to death. And the interiors are so plain. To me it gives me the impression of what would happen to a Camry if the germans were to engineer it.
