Future Race: C5 Z06 Vs. Cbr1000rr

Another future race!

This one has been boiling for the past two weeks since a certain well-known Z06 in the area went back to the shop for a blower and methanol. On the motor alone, the Z ran an '06 GSX-R1000 from 70-180 and came out ahead, granted homeboy on the Gixxer should have won. Now comes into the picture a squid on an '06 CBR1000RR with a power-commander and slip-on claiming it would be "impossible" for any street-car to take him on the street, denouncing the video-evidence of the Vette against the Gixxer to boot. Being the sponsor and head of public-relations for the said Z06, I asked if he had enough confidence in his bike to back it with $1,000. He accepted.

The Vette is currently in the hands of the best LSx tuner this side of the Mississippi River, and on the dyno as I type. I should be getting a call with the figures once the tune is buttoned down in a couple hours, but we're estimating the final numbers between 650-660 RWHP.

The race will take place at 12:00 AM Sunday morning on private property. The squid was also cocky enough to let us chose the roll-on speed, so we will spend some time after tuning finding the sweet-spot in 3rd-gear in order not to annihilate the 315/30-18 NT-01s...figure 75-190ish. We are doing our best to find someone named Hector that's too slow to get away with the money to hold it.

Regardless, your's truly will be filming, and the video will be posted.

Now back to your Volvo vs. Buick and Sentra threads...

Neither the '06 K1 or the CBR 1k will do 190mph...not with a PCIII USB and slip-on. You need a kit box to get rid of the soft and hard limiter...and other engine mods...plus above 100mph you need someone who knows how to tuck... If you are reading the speedo its more like 175mph

That aside street racing is retarded...

no way the rider on the bike pushes it past 150. i bet he cant tuck, for those speeds. its way different then going 70 or 80.
