va850guy Posted August 4, 2007 Report Share Posted August 4, 2007 The auto-dimming rearview mirror on my 99 S70T5 keeps dying after about a year or so of use. I've had the car for about 5 years and am on my 3rd mirror, which quit working about 3 months ago. Each time it happens I ask my dealership about it and they say the only thing that can be done is to replace the mirror. At $165 a pop this is getting expensive, not to mention annoying...has anybody else had this happen? Or have any idea what the problem might be? SkyWriter Posted August 5, 2007 Report Share Posted August 5, 2007 I believe that the auto-dimming function only works with in Drive.manual says 'only switched off in reverse'edit: actually that's what it says in my S80 manual. i don't believe i have one in the S70. Solution for me has been to just disconnect and reconnect the 3 connectors to the ECM in the roof panel. Seems to be just intermittent contacts. Good Luck. jerryc70 Posted August 9, 2007 Report Share Posted August 9, 2007 hey man, mine stopped working today too, i guess the heat from the sun messed it up, there is a huge white spot and every image is in triple.
