Yellow95
Breaker bar or lug wrench isnt going to help you if the jackass that bolted your wheels back on torque'd them to the pint of metal fatigue or to the point of warping your rotors. I demand hand torguing and watch them do it. I had Sam's put tires on my Dakota many years back. Got a flat near my house and was able to get it inthe driveway. Broke 2 lug wrenches. Called my dad to bring over the electric impact. 2 hours later I had 6 broken studs and 3 tires off. I never let another air wrench near my cars again.Gary

c70turbo5
When i bought my first C my tire blew out. I called the les schwab truck out to help me get the wheel off with thier impact gun because i couldn't get it off with the tire iron. They maxed out the truck compressor and that barely got them off. The retard before me had them over double the torque specs

T-5Bandit
unless u watch them theres no chance that they will do thatUmmm, yeah....your point is what? You should be watching them.Anytime I take my car somewhere for short period work (i.e. tires, alignment, etc.) I always stay and watch everything they do. If I am having my wheels balanced or tires changed, I always require that they will not use an impact gun to mount the wheels and will be using a torque wrench to tighten. One time I had a shop tell me it was no problem with torquing the wheels properly, obviously thinking I wouldn't be standing around watching them, and then tell me they couldn't find the torque wrench when it came time to mount the wheels. I made them walk to the mechanics shop next door to borrow a torque wrench.Especially with these franchise tire/wheel shops, I think it is careless of any vehicle owner to not be watching everything they are doing to your car. They just want to get your car in and out as quickly as possible, you would be the only one to ensure that the work is being done they way it should be. VolvoKid4Life
Okay you need to get some real tools.... that little volvo lug rench isnt worth crap. Get a breaker bar and your life will be 10 times easier when it comes to changing tires or when your doing anything to your car.JR
crc1185
Welp I took the car right down the street to a garage and they broke the lug nuts loose for free, so its all good now. I will go get a breaker bar and probably a new jack soon! In other news, the wheel painting is now coming along very well from what I can tell so far. There will be some pictures when I'm done... they're goin a lot darker... darker than I had planned ;)
Jaxx
I always ask for hand torque and watch them do it. The last thing you want is a flat tire on the wrong side of town and no way to get the lugs off or worse, break them.Garyyep. always have them torque it to spec. 80ftlbs or 81ftlbs. not only can the above happen, you can bend your wheels too, since they are aluminum.
