Bcs Problem

Recommended Posts

So someone gave me a tip with my low boost problem today. Said it seemed like my BCS was running wide open. I took a look at it, and found what hopefully is the problem. The bottom hole goes to the wastegate like it should. The top hole goes somewhere toward the turbo, which I'm assuming is right. The middle hole has about 3 inches of tubing and is then capped off with a screw. Where is this supposed to go? And could this cause low boost? (about 3psi) Thanks.

The middle hose goes to the turbo inlet right after the MAF sensor,to the bottom side of the plastic inlet hose.I'm not so sure but it could be the problem because it works like the Mbc valve where the one hose stays free in order to leave the pressure from the turbo go out and not in the wastegate so it rises the turbo pressure.

Disconnect the wastegate actuator and check you boost (carefully). I think the top (yellow) connection on the BCS goes to the Wastegate.

There are also two connections at the bottom the turbo. I do not recall what goes where but one of them is the BCS. I imagine one could get them swapped.

Well, you could say the one going to the BCS and then the other one for the CBV (compressor bypass valve).

Either way, to the original poster, that middle port on the BCS should lead to your intake (air inlet pipe) it will have a nipple on it, just plug the vacuum line on there.

wouldn't the CBV be running off the TB or manifold in order to allow it operate properly? if it's off the turbo it'll have the same psi on both sides of the diaphragm so it would stay closed when you let off the throttle... correct me if i'm wrong.
