FastWagon95
Just got the BOV on..currently with just a capped off CBV, I have a blanking plate to install tomorrow. I noticed a loss in boost with the BOV and it doesn't feel as torquey or quick..It's a real Greddy type RSIs the lack of blanking plate causing this? Thanks, Taylor
JHEIII874T5M
Loss of boost sounds like the BOV is leaking. Is it a real Greddy RS or a knockoff? Adjust the tension on it?The blanking plate can help you recover boost that is leaking out at the CBV, but if it was not leaking out before the BOV install then that would be irrelevant. Regardless, the blanking plate is mandatory (in my opinion) to install when a BOV is put on.

JHEIII874T5M
Personally I'd say tighten it.
EricF
You say you just capped off the CBV (like capped off the vacuum tee)? This is no good... You will want to leave it hooked up until you have a blockoff plate installed.

Denovae
your CBV is leaking. without boost being routed to the diaphragm, the spring is not strong enough by itself to hold boost from the turbo in the system. CBV springs are weak - think 2-4lb/in, so when your TB closes the pressure on the CBV side is less than that on the turboside which causes the CBV to open. as you have it there is no pressure to it so as much boost is escaping through there as possible and with your wastegate closed the turbo is actually worked harder to maintain boost.Think of your CBV as power assisted steering, without the power assist it can not work properly or to it's fullest potential.get that BOP - block off plate, black silicon the outline, screw it on and you should be fine. don't mess with BOV - it's not the culprit ( unless you have a truly shitty BOV ). I should be safe driving it until then right?

EricF
Dude just hook a vacuum line up to it from the manifold like it was before and it will be good to go for as long as it takes for you to have free time to put the blockoff plate on... And you'll still hear the BOV.

And you'll still hear the BOV.I just did that..spliced the vaccum line going to the BOV back into the CBV as well with a T-fitting..it was the only t-fitting i had at the moment so i had to use it..it's a little big for the vaccum lines so I hope it stays on. Its a turbobricks special with zip-ties and all just test drove it, BOV is quieter but it should be fine..
