ssbn726b
My XC70 is taking longer to start. Changed the plugs and this didn't help. Car runs well once started. Has a new Throttle body and isn't pulling any codes. Just another gremlin coming out to take more money. Help
Fudge_Brownie
Clean battery terminals and the connections on the starter itself.
ssbn726b
The engine turns over quickly, just doesn't run until maybe 4 or 5 seconds or less.
MrWinkey
How new is the ETM? You stated it was new but how new? also it is gettin cold in the late day early evenings in your area. My call is the ETM
ssbn726b
No more than a year and a half, and maybe 15,000 miles since installed. I'm wondering if it may be a checkvalve in the fuel system or the idle control motor. Read a few threads by tough to pinpoint. No codes or faults and when I put the key in position 2 and wait until the fuel pump tops off, it starts easier.
leurven
Could be a fuel pressure regulator going bad. Try replacing your fuel filter also. If it is your pressure regulator I believe that is something that can be replaced from the top access points in the trunk as opposed to dropped the rear end and fuel tanks.Could be ETM - did you get the ETM update from the dealer? dmelviØØ7
Sounds like you are loosing fuel pressure, but my guess is that it needs a fuel pump :(
leurven
And fuel pumps are not cheap - just make sure you replace both of them when you do it along with basically everything else related in the fuel tank - you won't want to pay for that procedure again. ssbn726b
The ETM was done by Volvo along with the software update, plus the cash back from some Volvo independant agency. Sounds as though I may have to wait on that repair. I'll just run it like a diesel and hope that it doesn't fail on me. Thanks for all of the inputs. leurven
Well considering you have to remove the rear end and subframe on the AWDs for instance who can call that fun?
