The only shows I watch on TV is the Sunday night line up (simpsons, cleveland show, family guy, american dad) and the Office, and then I watch modern family on hulu. Everything else on TV looks pretty gay, and I only have channels 1-24.

Yeah, i don't have cable so i just find shows online to watch.

Californication, Dexter, Sons of Anarchy (can't help it ), and top gear are pretty much the shows i watch when i miss TV.

Quoting Simon and Garfunkel, "I can gather all the news I need on the weather report." haha

Also, i love the onion:

Utah Fans Concerned As Jazz Break Huddle By Shouting 'Kill The Mormons'

May 3, 2010 | ISSUE 46•17

SALT LAKE CITY—An uneasy sense of anxiety overtook the crowd at EnergySolutions Arena Sunday as fans watched a pumped-up Jazz team break their pregame huddle by chanting, "One, two, three—kill the Mormons!" "Normally this team is pretty even-keeled, but tonight they're really scaring me," said season ticket holder Delton Stanger, who was terrified by the team's cheers of "Die, Mormons, die" and "We're coming for you, Mormons." "I just don't understand why all my favorite players want to kill us and why it's inspiring them to play with such passion." Utah fans were reportedly appalled when head coach Jerry Sloan used a dry-erase board to diagram how to find the Mormons, round them up, and kill them, but admitted their anger was tempered by the team's resultant 15-0 run.

One of the clear nose-rests (don't know the actual term) of my glasses just randomly fell off. I heard it hit the floor, but I can't find it.

That's got me thinking. I don't think I've been to an optometrist in like 4 years, and had the same pair of glasses. Maybe it's time for new ones. Anyone recommend going to a chain place like Lenscrafters over a privately owned optometrist? (or vice versa)

I'm in the same boat, well, on the not having been part.

I like the private ones a bit more. I went to a local chain last time I went, and they ended up giving me a stronger lens, which ended up making my vision worse, and the whole time just felt rushed.

If I understand correctly, there's one big fail in that infographic. They said the insurance surcharge is $300, but then used that figure to say it is 100% profit for the ins. industry. While possible, highly unlikely. Just playing devil's advocate. I don't care about a fine for speeding; I only care about the insurance hike, tax, fine, whatever we want to call it.

eh? Ticket makes for ~$300 in surcharges resulting in $10.2 billion in profit for insurance companies, didn't get the sole stream of revenue bit from it...maybe i'm missing something :D

The math they did was $300 surcharge times 34 million tickets to get $10.2 billion. They said that's profit. It's revenue, but not profit. They claim to increase insurance rates because you are more likely to cost them money. So if some of these 'high risk' drivers crash, it costs them money, which comes from that revenue pool of $10.2b. What I want to know, what we all need to know, is how much of that $10.2b gets pocketed. If 99.9999% does, showing that these 'high risk' drivers barely cost them anything, then perhaps that proves the $300 surcharge is unjustley high.

Also, note the sources. Unlike many info graphics, it at least has sources. But we can't just say 'oh look, sources. It must be true'. The first source is a blog  However, most of them are newspapers. While we'd like to believe they are unbiased resources who properly check their facts and report accurately, I personally don't have a lot of faith.
