Mesoam
The cabin air filter retainer fits in 850s that didn't come with that, right? Because didn't the pre-95s not have them, or whatever year that was? Correct the retainer fits on top of the air inlet w/ the charcoal filter under the cowl They gave me a doc with two DVI outputs. But I want to be able to have my home computer hooked up to those monitors also. So you want two computers hooked up to the same two monitors? Like what Brian is describing? You can also use a 2 port KVM switch

KVM Switch for sure but 6 port? 4 DVI in to 2 DVI out? $500 is what the I/O Gear is talkign about. might just be worth it to go VGA since I am not going over 1080p res

That would certainly make it easy: one input per computer and a simple switcher for the keyboard and mouse. or... i imagine a 2-->1 DVI switcher is a lot less than $250... one for each monitor w/ the KB/mouse attached to one of them. Could even get fancy and wire the switch buttons together My set up is actually with all dedicated screens, no switching... So another solution: more monitors.
MattyXXL
$500??? These are the ones we just finished installing for JPMC a couple months ago... under $200 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Belkin-SOHO-4-Port-DVI-USB-KVM-Switch-F1DD104L-NEW-/200768148215?pt=US_KVM_Switches_KVM_Cables&hash=item2ebeb6d2f7#ht_518wt_1185

These are the ones we just finished installing for JPMC a couple months ago... under $200 http://www.ebay.com/...7#ht_518wt_1185 That is a DVI KVM, but does not handle multi-monitor. I bet thats why it is $500. I've never done it myself, but pretty sure certain types of DVI, using the proper cable, will allow you to put a splitter on the end of it. So you do single-monitor DVI switch (must support this type of DVI though), and then on the output of KVM, put the splitter.
MattyXXL
yeah the soho supports dual link connections with a Y-adapter thats how we were installing them. but anything over 2 monitors youll need a multi monitor usb adapter.

survolvo
Some smoke detectors are photoelectric. They can be set off by light hitting it just right. Happens all the time around here, usually at sunset when the light is shining off the ocean.
matt b
It will be very close to the 870 if they get the 5 cylinder xc90. But I hear they are slow as molasses and get pretty bad MPG. Mattb owns one, I asked his advice when I was looking for an SUV for my wife... They definitely drive differently than our 850's and X70's! But if you can look past the poor MPG (19-22 mpg on the highway at normal speeds), they are reliable and pleasant. I love ours for the fact that you can just hop in, drive it, park it and never worry. We've put 25K miles, I've done oil changes, tires and a set of plugs. That's it. As for working on them, it feels very familiar and ours has not required anything odd. They are slow (but given their weight, no surprise there), the gas mileage is pathetic by today's standards but they are convenient, reliable and feel very familiar. Your MPG results and critique was the main reason I didn't go with the XC90 or a Mercedes. And BTW thanks for your help. My goal was to get a car that got better gas mileage then '00R. That and the size, it's just a bit too big for us and our garage, my neighbor has the same size garage and they have a XC60 and that just barely fits. We went with a new '11 Forester XT fully loaded, awesome price ($20K less then the XC60 R-design) and gets good MPG. 19-21 in mixed driving with lots of stop and go traffic vs. mine that's getting 17-18 city, 26-28 highway and 16 city with AC on! But my driving uses a lot of WOT! :arob:

Goes off, I take it down and walk it outside, it stops and that was the end of it. So it kept going off which was freaking out my wife. The two are daisy chained so when the 2nd floor went off the 1st did. I took the 2nd floor out and kept it unplugged for 2 hours... no alarms. Went out and got some 9v batteries and replaced both of them... no problem since 9pm last night. Weird thing is that the manual for these detectors says what the beep or sound is for a low battery... and it did not do that.
