NEU
So it kept going off which was freaking out my wife. The two are daisy chained so when the 2nd floor went off the 1st did. I took the 2nd floor out and kept it unplugged for 2 hours... no alarms. Went out and got some 9v batteries and replaced both of them... no problem since 9pm last night. Weird thing is that the manual for these detectors says what the beep or sound is for a low battery... and it did not do that. Time to calll Kiddie Try vacuuming out the sensor, if they are old dust or bugs can set them off. My folks have that happen to there every once and a while. They are brand new (3 months old) blew them out. I went to the store and got the same model to replace the weird one. Kidde is sending me a new one free so I will use this one until the free one comes... then return the one I just bought for a refund. Fudge_Brownie
Some smoke detectors are photoelectric. They can be set off by light hitting it just right. Happens all the time around here, usually at sunset when the light is shining off the ocean. It is a photoelectric, so that's cool info. Though it was in probably one of the most 'shaded' areas of the house, but whatever.
survolvo
Could have been a reflection. They don't need a lot light, just the right beam and angle.

Dick Dastardly
It will be very close to the 870 if they get the 5 cylinder xc90. But I hear they are slow as molasses and get pretty bad MPG. Mattb owns one, I asked his advice when I was looking for an SUV for my wife... sorta similar...basic engine design is the same but a lot of stuff is different...dual VVT..can-bus system. Different brakes and AWD. Not really slow as molasses, just not as torquey as bigger SUVs so they feel like they lack at certain rpm ranges.. But it will move when needed. Also averages ~19mpg daily and 25 on highway trips with kids and stuff..not too bad really.

For you M4.3/4.4 guys I can see where it's a little different. But for ME7 x70 it's pretty much the same motor and I've got AWD but only 1 vvt.
