That right there is gold:

I bought two, left them alone in the refrigerator for a week, and now I have thirty-eight.

Off to buy a bigger fridge.

And this one left me on the floor:

I loved the idea of having a fresh rabbit dinner for a few of my closest friends at a dinner party . Unfortunately I own a waterfront home here in South Florida and forgot one of the fundamental rules of home ownership in this part of the country. The rabbits arrived right on schedule, however I was shopping at the time and the busy U P S man left them on my doorstep as he often does with packages when I'm not home. The scent of raw rabbits must have attracted the reptiles in the adjacent lake behind the house because when I arrived home I was shocked to see half dozen huge snapping and hissing alligators gnawing and fighting over the unrecognizable, bloody mess that was left. One of the beasts actually attacked and ate my poodle "Peppy" as I fought off the vicious creatures until someone from animal control could arrive. I can not actually speak personally as to the quality of the meat since it was thoroughly devoured before the melee could be contained but the alligators certainly loved it, in fact I have to be extremely careful now everytime I come out of the house. On a bright note we pressed forward with our dinner plans despite the setback and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the alligator tail Ka-bobs and we now have several new pairs of shoes with matching belts and wallets so, since I am an eternal optimist and try to find the happiness in every situation, I would have to give this purchase a big thumbs up, although, in all fairness, if Peppy were here he would probably be less enthusiastic.

I wonder if it's helpful or hurtful to a product that they reach meme status on Amazon? Apparently based on the reviews for the fresh whole rabbit, Tuscan Whole Milk has a similar following and the writers appear to jump from product to product based on the recommendation engine.

Ignoring any kind of ranking system based on rating or number of views, I'm not sure it really affects them. I think anyone who reads the reviews knows they mean nothing, and perhaps it makes the product more memorable. But I'm not sure it increases or decreases the viewer's likelihood of purchase.
