Burn-E
This Am. heard a crash in garage, yep spring busted…... This one sucks big time. It's a job I won't even contemplate touching. matt b
Springs stink, but some doors can still work w/o them (for a few days). We just replaced our garage doors, went belt drive on the motors since they're underneath 2 bedrooms: best decision ever.
flyfishing3
Worse - he accepted a tax deduction. Shit I'm embarrassed to say how much we owed
Burn-E
Better to owe than to pay. But it sounds like Chuck is right, you're living the 1% dream aren't you Mike?

Burn-E
Why? Such an easy fix. Because it means dealing with a very high tension spring. I'm willing to pay an expert a couple hundred dollars rather than put my life at risk.

Burn-E
Do people in Yonkers just not know how to drive or what? I've never seen a pile-up like this that wasn't in a movie: http://www.lohud.com/article/20131209/NEWS/312090016/Wintry-storm-causes-24-car-pileup-injuring-30-Bronx-River-Pkwy-Sunday-night-roads-remain-icy?nclick_check=1 24 car pile-up injures 45. I'm not surprised by the number of cars or the number of injuries, what amazes me is how the cars are piled high on top of each other. It's like Magneto went crazy.

Fudge_Brownie
What is it called when a company sells two products as the same, or extremely similar model, but one is better than the other? Company X sells Product ABC in their brand-store. It is high quality. Target also carries Product ABC, which despite seeming identical, is lesser quality.I always thought it was called B-Stock. But googling, people seem to use that term for what I'd call scratch-and-dent.
flyfishing3
i used to sell Stanley Bostich air guns, the ones sold through dist. had metal innards, higher quality and more money. the ones sold at the BOX stores looked the same but plastic guts. i've heard DeWalt does that also.
