I wonder if the data really breaks down to :

Men have less accidents, but they make 'em count, and total the car(s).

Women have more accidents, but are usually minor fender benders.

I always heard males had less accidents per mile, but drove more miles per year hence they have more accidents.

But I'll second the minor fender bender vs totaled car. I wasted my miata, I also have no recollection of the accident at all.

Whereas every girl I've know to be in an accident is due to weather and them bumping into someone.

In Montana, women used to be charged more based on actual costs but since it targeted women, that was ruled illegal and now insurance companies can't use gender to determine rates so yes, it went up for men to make everyone feel better. Funny, I'm all for equal rights but I never hear women's rights groups demanding to have more women in prison, driving dump trucks or die on the job (I don't advocate for this either of course). Only some things should be fair I guess. I wonder how it would go over for me to get into a women's locker room with a press credential and some cameras???

dibs on the 850...

You're maturing, you had the decency to not claim his wife.

Be safe Erik, the pictures of the protests don't make the place look safe AT ALL. Even with the amnesty, etc..., I'd rather be elsewhere.

lol, if you get it you have to finish it.

Thanks for the well wishes Matt. I just want to see what is really happening since I am one Metro stop away. I have been blown away with how awesome the Ukrainian people are ... once you get to know them and understand their politics and culture it all makes sense.

Regarding all the snow chatter and "my area is better than yours", DATA!

Some reddit user gathered user data.

VVSttMH.png

The lightest green says "any snow" but also includes merely the prediction of snow. Also, this is snow accumulation over 24 hours/overnight.

In much of the Midwest and Great Plains, school closing often depends more on wind chill and temperature than on snow accumulation ("cold days"). Thus, this map may be misleading in those areas.

Many jurisdictions in California and other western states have significantly varied snowfall, depending on elevation. This makes it difficult to find an "average" number, or often makes it misleading.

Urban areas like Chicago and New York have more resources to clear snow and often need more to cause closings.

To everyone saying "I grew up in so-and-so and we never closed school," policies have changed in the last 20 years to make closing a much more common occurrence. Just because schools stayed open back then doesn't mean they do these days.

Hawaii does get snow! Just... not where people live.

Data was taken from hundreds of various points from user responses and interpolated using NOAA's average annual snowfall days map. Any corrections/additions are welcome, just give a decently specific location.
