Not really. A car with 50k miles can be running worse than a car with 200k on it...

That's what I think too. If a car with 200k miles has been well maintained and driven regularly, it could technically be running better than a 50k mile car of the same year that has been sitting all of it's life.

My grand uncle has an 87 Volvo 740 GLE and has properly maintained it since the beginning. It has 400+ km on it and when it was on it's last emission test, it tested just as well if not better than a lot of new cars.

kinda morbid, sure... but i've been reading the all the recent deaths... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deaths_in_2008 some interesting people... some interesting stories...

did you know woody harrelsons dad was a hitman?

and have you ever heard of Webroot Software ("Spy Sweeper", etc)... apparently the founder disapeared when he was diagnosed as bi-polar, and then like a month later they found his body at the bottom of Pali Lookout near Honolulu...

well yeah. but the likelihood of something going wrong in the future of a car with lots of miles compared to one with less miles would seem higher to me. i agree a car could be well maintained and in fact run better for the rest of it's life than a similar car with fewer miles. but if i'm buying a used car i would prefer to find something with lower miles unless i somehow knew exactly how the car had been taken care of.

No, you don't.

No, you wouldn't.

i was kidding if you did not notice.
