evilb
I just noticed that my driver's side door edge has been hitting the body and now there's a bit of rust developing where it chipped the paint. The bottom half towards the rear seems to be a bit too far in.Does anyone know if it's possible to adjust the door so it doesn't do this?

I have replaced a door in my 740 and my 850. Both had shims behind the hinges and there is some room for the bolts to move as well. It helps to have someone holding the door for you or you can use a floor jack and a block of wood to take the weight of the door as you adjust it. It's a trial and error thing, try to learn about what the shims and bolts do as you go and you'll be a pro in no time.
MrWinkey
I will warn you the C series are a PITA to adjust. Especially if it's a vert. Perhap's you may want to seek professional assistance on this?
evilb
It's a coupe, but I'd probably have to take off the door trim panel to readjust the angle of the window (did this on the passenger side when I was replacing the lock mechanism). I'll check with the dealer to see how much they want to rip me off for this. I could do it myself, but if it isn't too much then I'd rather avoid the trouble.
