I know i have talked about Diamond Pistons making us some pistons in the past,

Anyone have a stock piston and rod to send to so i can send to Diamond. See what they would do a custom set of pistons for. SInce i have dealt with them in the past on custom work i am pretty sure i could get them to do it. None of the custom pistons they have done for me have been over $80 each. ANd they do not care about the quantity. IF you want one or 100. Anyone have a stock turbo piston and rod laying around they wouldnt mind donating to me? Preferably one that is not totally destroyed. Needs to at least resemble a piston and rod.

Send me a pm if you have one. OR hell just mail it. Cant imagine it costing more than a few dollars shipping.

WOuldnt it be nice to have another option besides JE, or wiseco just as good probalby cheaper than factory.

Josh already sent a piston to Diamond....he HAD them in his new motor till the damn shop burned down.

You can PM JoshV70 and he'll give you some info. They quoted be $75 per complete piston with pins and they can have them to you within a few weeks.

they have been around since the 1968, they just stayed small unlike JE and wiseco. very good customer service, Prices average $70-90 each for a custom piston. they will do one or a hundred and one. JE and wiseco will charge you big time for custom work and especially if you only want a few like 5 inour case. I first heard of them through my 2.3 turboford friends about 5 years ago. Our problem was the factory forged turbo pistons were discontinued and were getting scarce. And many people in the 2.3 crowd like to run long rods, 5.5" and 5.7" from chevy v8's only choice then for a long rod motor was wiseco, very expensive and not the greatest. Not the best design. For example, the wiseco turbo pistons came with valve reliefs cut in them, which was paper thin next the piston edge, and anti detonation grooves between the crown and top ring. The reliefs are totally unneeded, it is impossible for the valves to hit the piston in the 2.3 ford.

Diamond was contacted and they copied the factory forged pistons for us, then they made pistons for the 5.5 and 5.7 rod people, they had so many orders that they now keep them on the shelf, and the price is even lower. left out the valve reliefs for us. Floating pins, double pin oilers, spiro locks were and a better dish design wee all made standard for us. I personally run a set of the 5.5 crower rods and their pistons.

I also had them make a custom set for a 2.0 liter VW 16 valve vw passat motor that we turbod and put into an early rabbit gti, I sent them the stock 10-1 compression piston and rod, gave them part number for the total seal ring pack i wanted to use and a few other measurements they needed, like bore, and crnk centerline to deck height, told them i wanted an 8-1 compression piston, and presto, $90 each, including, pins, locks, and rings i had a set.

If they have allready done a set that is great that means they can crank more out. I would personally go with double pin oilers, c-clip pin retainers (spiro locks are a pain in the butt) and maybe some gas porting.

Look through their catalog they do lots of forced induction pistons.

I put a few pics in my album of the wisecos from my .23 turboford, here you can see the valve relief i was talking about. paper thin, and totally not needed in a 2.3 turboford.

There arae also some other pics in there of my 850t side exhaust and engine, vr6 turbo rabbit truck, merkur and the rabbit gti aka the ether bunny (150hp shot of nitrous on an old CIS injected 8 valve.

IF Josh had them make a set then they have all the info they need to make more. I will give Diamond a call monday and ask.

QUality? Trust me that is not a factor to worry about with them. Here is a link to their catalog, download it and have a look, or just Google them. diamond catalog

Everytime pistons come up on here i always chime in about diamond, please dont get mad at me for it, I really am just trying to find everybody another option to what is available now.
