flippu10
I'm trying to replace the ball joints. I've removed the nut where it attaches to the control arm. I've also removed the control arm from the ball joint. However, I can't detach it from the hub. The new ball joint looks like it's got a circular ball that has a serrated edge that fits into a hole in the hub. Is there a special tool or technique to pop it loose.Any help is much appreciated. I used a metal putty knife first between the ball joint and the hub to get a separation. Then I gradually separated them apart by using a flat head screw driver, increasing the thickness using larger ones. I used 2 screwdrivers on either end to maintain a balanced separation until it popped out. No prob. Now I can put the new one on.
