Install A Rear Sway Bar To Your 855!

People swear improvement of handling w/ IPD over stock sway bars.

But If you drive an 855 w/o rear sway bar at all, installing a stock one would give your car mucho mucho improvement. I'm told all 855's are without rear sway bar from the factory. Not sure about non-R 854's (NA or Turbo/T5).

Anyway, they say installing one when originally there is none is hard. Maybe I got lucky but I didn't find it hard at all!

The trick is to have the weight of the car on the rear wheels by using a ramp instead of placing the rear on stands. Then making the bolts align can be done BY HAND, not the cussing causing nightmare I've heard when I searched here.

So, keep your eye on f/s rear sway bars if you're on a budget yet wants to improve the handling of your beloved 850, they sell for about $50-$60 shipped.

BTW, I do have Bilstein HD on my rears, but without a sway bar, they're not very effective imo.

Hope this could help someone out there

Imagine my surprise when I found out my 94 855 Turbo didn't have one. My 98 V70 NA has it!

I thought only the NA 855s were without a rear sway bar.

Installing it isn't that hard when you're on jacks either as long as you aren't jacking from the rear suspension.

My 96 855 turbo didn't come with a rear sway. Installed a set from a used T5-R (thicker than stock) - very noticeable improvement and much less body roll esp on wide cornering like hiway exit ramps. Downside is uneven pavements feel harsher. But overall, the sways bars are better than none at all.

None on our 94 855 either. Makes a sweet difference.
