Jaxx
why do u never hear compressor surge on any volvos?you do, if the CBV is torn. the CBV that comes with the car will just let out a woosh-ish type sound. when you have a pinhole in the diaphragm it should flutter. or when you disconnect a blowoff valve with a car with a blanking plate. blown_volvo850r
You don't hear compressor surge coming out of the BOV on our cars 'cause our turbos are too small. You'll hear it but it's not enough to force the BOV open and flutter. Couldn't find a Type-S anywhere online so I ordered the Type-R. The Turbosmart Supersonic was a bit out of my price range, and I'm confident the GReddy will serve me well. I should have it installed in the next couple of weeks so I'll try to get a video of the BOV and my exhaust once everything's hardpiped.

DARKSIDE
Just curious, are you mounting it to stock pipes or RIP...btw...The compressor surge is easier to hear if there is no intake pipe attached to the turbo...Also more boost=more compressor surge...if the bov/cbv isn't working properly... chaze1385
Get something that you can pipe back in. Keep the setup sealed. Will eliminate headaches. CHad

gmsgltr
My new Forge BOV , Thanks Joeseph , Has a great sound, I'm not too familiar with other setups but what I do know is that the Forge has a great sound and is not the loudest, Search you tube for BOV's and pick the one you like the sound of, thats all... Mine didn't leak, but it would sit and go back and forth between open and closed for a few seconds at idle before closing fully. I am sure you know what that would do on a MAF system. Doug had the same problem. As much as I hate the sound of the HKS, that's the only one I have never heard anything bad about (aside from the sound). My new Forge is working good, just wish it was louder.
ACES70
I love my SSQV. Sound is just really high pitched. I plan on a recirc
