I have a 2000 S70 - Upon deceleration at lights/stops, at idle (in park) if the engine is reved up, on the deceleration it goes below idle and shuts off. Engine starts fine and seems to idle fine. Running speed is fine, no miss firing. Any ideas?

Have you had the ETM recall done yet? Any lights? Try unplugging the MAF and see if it gets any better.

If it's not throwing a ETM code then it's time for stage 0.....Fuel filter, plugs, O2 sensors, my car had an issue which I thought was ETM, but no codes. It would shut off but not long enough to kill it just blackout and reset....scary, and died twice right after start. I replaced the fuel filter and it hasn't happened since. Good luck!

thanks everyone. I changed the fuel filter and drove it. still shut off.

I then changed the spark plugs, still shut off.

I looked at the o2 sensors but something told me that wasn't it.

finally caved and took it to the dealership.

It was a clog in the throttle body. something the mechanic said needs done every 30,000 miles. who knew?!

anyway, not too pricey 135 dollars. Runs great now. Thanks all!!!
