dishwatcher2
The Rear ABS sensor on my S80 is sending misinformation to the system settng off the ABS Light. Right rear is travel at an excessive speed while the left rear is more normal.I'm trying to get inside the rear brakes to clean and inspect the sensors. But I can't seem to get the disc off. I have removed the caliper, stud that screws through the disc, as well as backed off the E brake cable adjuster within the center console. Yet the disc will not coem off. It seems logical that the E brake shoes woudl be holdign it on, but teh disc rolls free and as no play. This is basic DYI task that has me stumped. Any suggestions. bes4420
I did the brakes on my car and couldn't get it off either. After speaking to a friend at the dealer, he said whack it with a hammer, on the portion where the lug nuts screw in so as to not damage the surface where the disc pads apply pressure to stop the car. After a few whacks, mine came off. I didn't even loosen the E-Brake cable. Hope this helps, don't do it if you don't feel comfortable and don't hold me responsible if it doesn't work or if something else is wrong, preventing the rotor from coming off.
