Ohhh.Car amps haven't been common ground since cassette decks, dude. And shooting 12 volts up a speaker lead, even with a current limiting light bulbjust is NOT a good plan. If you can't get an indication off of the speaker, you havean easy option before you go lookin' for a wiring diagram. If the old speaker still "works" and just got buzzy, a AA battery can solve this problem. The cone wil go either in or out when you connect it. If it moves out, then the + sideof the battery is connected to the + of the speaker. Just don't leave it hooked up!All you need is a quick speaker pop to find out.If the bad speaker is totally open, ya gotta take it a little further. I'd find a diagram or have someone that knows a little more about stereos take a look. Some folks can detect phase by ear. There are also some test discs out there that will pop the speakers for you in and out of phase and that will give you the answer you seek, Young Jedi.
