roktbox
The day of reckoning is nigh upon me. My sled needs a valve job, an interior door panel (friggin' bubbles), a remote key fob + flash and some other nagging repairs that one would expect with 187K on the clock. I'm budgeting at least $3K for the work. Car has all the ipd goodies one would expect from the suspension to the brakes to the Stage III w/ Aquamist, wheels, R bumper, new stock stuff, yada, yada. Car is tight and I know exactly what I have inside and out. I passed on an '06 R this spring and committed to keep her for another year. Now I'm waffling yet again like some freshman on prom night.I realize that this is like asking crackheads if they should go cold turkey or call their dealer, but it's worth the shout out anyway. Keep it and continue to improve / maintain? Sell it and move up in the world? Thoughts from the collective ..........

RockyXL
if you have the resources, i would definitely just move up in the world. spend the $3k towards a downpayment on something that doesn't have 200k miles.
roktbox
how's the body on the car? scratches, dents? shine?Body is perfect save for the expected road rash of that mileage as is the interior. The respray on the R bumber did not fair well, though. The OEM paint is like armor. No dents, no dings, no scratches of significance. Paint is uber shiny and always maintained. All this adds to my self imposed angst. :o

roktbox
sell it, buy a BMWWhy BMW? The Volvo is a great stealth car for the sales profession. An orthodontist rolls a BMW, Porsche, Benz and he is assumed to a man of great talent and skill. A sales rep rolls in the same and it can be assumed that he is getting over on his clients or his product must be too expensive. What are the real world cost of ownership benefits of BMW? I do agree, Volvos are nice, my next volvo will be a newer wagen for sure. RWD is very very appealing though, sideways daily is what I like to call it.
