where is the proper mounting place for the factory volvo 6 disc changer in the left rear of the volvo 850 wagon?

is there a way to mount it behind the left rear trim panel or does it have to go in the spare tire well?

where was it mounted if you ordered a factory one and had it installed at the dealer in a 855?

in plain view is out of the question.. i need it concealed..

any ideas or pics of install??

thanks

i had it in the glove in my 855, then i upgraded. from the factory, the changer was mounted in the floor in the drivers rear. there was a different door for the floor.

dealer wants insane money for the carpeted CD riser box so thats not going to happen. jippi, did u buy yours new? volvo wants $240 for the stupid carpeted riser box!! no way.. and erie vovo has nothing.

is there any other custom ideas for mounting it in the rear? i am NOT mounting it in the glovebox..

lets see some custom mount ideas please...in the rear of the wagon only..

thats where the factory wired changer wire goes so i know you guys with later 855T5's and 855R's must have some changers mounted in the left rear

My sister has an OEM changer mounted under the floor in the cargo area in her 855. It was mounted when she got it, but it basically attaches underneath the panel that covers the spare tire well. I have been in it several times and it never skips, so apparently that is a good mounting point. I would guess that the kit that mounts the changer under the rear deck lid in the 854 would probably work just as well; but, I am guessing. The only other thing is, if you go with a full-sized spare, there won't be enough room under the panel for the changer to mount. Hope this doesn't confuse the issue even more

If this is the changer I think it is, and you elect to mount under floor,

remember to change the suspension adjustments on the sides

from vertical to horizontal or it'll skip like a motherbear...
