New Tattoo And Industrial

Recommended Posts

So I got a new tattoo...we did it in four sessions: outline, front fill, left back fill, right back fill. Just got the fourth done tonight. Next Tuesday we'll do touchups on the front, then left back a week later, and right back the following week. So far it has approximately 10 hours in it, and I imagine we'll put another 4-5 in the touching up. It's taken almost two months from when we started, and I still have 3-4 more weeks of refilling and healing before it's completely finished.

Part I...six stencils were used. The tattoo in the middle of my back is something I got right after my 19th b-day. I wanted the new one to be different, yet still have the same overall form so they didn't clash. It was drawn up in 15 minutes.

Part II...filled in the front sections two weeks later and a 1.5" SS industrial.

Part IV (skipped part III)...everything is filled in and I put in a 1 3/8" black bar.

Fancy, though I still fail to see what is so enticing about injecting ink onto one's body surface :)

It's not about injecting ink...you could write on yourself with a sharpie and get the same effect. It's about taking something that's important or meaningful to you, and translating it into a tattoo. Or it could be a way of dealing with inner pain by having it done on the outside (similar to people who cut themselves to relief their inner pain). Lots of reasons. My first one represented depression, unhappiness, and something I wanted to put behind me. So we came up with a painful looking design that suggest unrest and inner turmoil and put it on my back so that once I was over it, it would be behind me (on my back). The new one is still very unique tribal, yet the lines and shaping suggests a fierce, yet positive movement away from the center tattoo (that represented pain). It's jagged and rough, but vibrant and hopeful, and everything leads to my front. The bottom sections didn't quite make it to the fronts of my ribs, but the tattoo itself as a whole is far from finished. Basically the new tattoo is presenting me as a new person, finished with the pas, moving toward the future, and doing it in a positive way. That's what I wanted the designs to suggest, and I think they do that very well. For me, the enticing part of getting tattoos is that it's personal to me, and me only. It's a link down to who I really am, and all the rest. Not to mention nobody else has my tattoos. They're all custom and won't be replicated for anyone. So it's MY tattoo...unique, fierce, somewhat obnoxious, and not-too-conservative...kinda like my car.

nice, i want a tat, but im still deciding on what i want to get, being the terrible artist that i am its hard to put the things that really mean the most into pictures

Yah know if you went out into a car lot with 5,000 cars of all different brands and models, and you got to pick one to take home with you...there will be one and only one waiting for you somewhere, and when you see it, you'll know. You'll KNOW. Same with tattoos. If you don't fully want/need a particular tattoo for the reason you're getting inked, then it's the wrong one.

hm... do you have some sweet tribal decals on your car and seat covers too? :P

I have decals but they ain't tribal, lol. Tribal looks good on an Asian, not a Swedish meatball.

Inking ones body is not for everyone. I would be included in the group that it is not for. I dont like them on women either. You can call it art, I usually just call it a slut stamp.

Not all women are sluts for having tatoos.

The "slut" stamp I believe you are referring to is also known as a "tramp" stamp.
