TBM
I did a search, found a little bit, but since most of the topics are old, the pics are not showing up.Does anyone have comparison pics of HID's: in stock headlight lenses vs. E-code lenses? A before and after would hit the spot. Preferrably aiming at a garage or something. TIA

RockyXL
I do not have any pictures, but I can relay some personal experience:I have been running e-code lenses with 65W bulbs for a while on my V70. It is true that the +10W bulbs draw more power from the battery and generate slightly more heat, but my vehicle has not been negatively impacted--plus, the significantly brighter light is a worthy trade off for an easily replaceable fuse, in my opinion. As far as the beam pattern itself, the e-code lenses throw much more light towards the driver's side of the car. I drive at night on I-5 from LA to central CA a lot so this upgrade has been invaluable to me. There is a noticeable difference between DOT and e-code lenses not only in the beam pattern, but in the brightness/lumens outputted as well; the fewer diffraction lines of the e-code lenses also increase the aesthetic appeal of the headlights themselves by being clearer and...newer looking. When i bought my s70t5m with the stock lenses and lights, i couldn't see isht in comparison with my aforementioned set up. In fact, I hit a piece of metal going southbound on the 5 because i didn't see it until it would have been dangerous to swerve. thankfully all the damage that was incurred was a cracked air guide and fubared license plate. Regardless, I guess this doesn't really satisfy your request for pictures but it may help in making a decision to get e-codes.Now i need to stop fkn around and buy projectors and hidz

RedTurbo850
The HID will have the same beam as the E-codes but it's going to light up much whiter and brighter.
theForgottenone
I was lazy to take before shot for comparison in good angle.Left OEM, right E-code - 4300K mydepot kitLeft OEM, right E-code - 4300K mydepot kitVersus my friend IS300 stock HID. Those with 8K or 12K HID bulbs, see if you can get the road light up like this in the rain Angle shot but you get the idea of light distribution on the road. msestina
theForgottenone:Would you say the Ecodes are worth it?Ecodes are Euro spec. Consider in Europe, they drive at much higher speeds, sometime unlimited. To drive that fast at night you better be able to see further down the road and to the side as objects will come up quick. They are better.

theForgottenone
theForgottenone:Would you say the Ecodes are worth it?If you do not have projectors setup, E-code is better for distributing light evenly and not giving the oncoming drivers any glare issue with HID compare to DOT headlight lense. Otherwise, projectors is the best setup.

Otherwise, projectors is the best setup. The only thing I don't like about projectors is that at different angles, the light changes colors...that's gay IMO. That's why I'm not too into 'em (for now at least).
