Pops Racer
I drive a 1995 855 t5 auto tranny. 15g conical, 165k miles, 2.5" catback, new silicone, stage0 complete. Also MSD coil and magnatec wires. When I get on it and start pushing the boost, the car sounds/feels like its pulsing, like maybe a miss fire. I searched a bit and thought it might be my CBV finally going to shit. I have been losing oil at a higher rate lately, no slicks on driveway or underside of car. I figure turbo is starting to eat it. Also, seems more tar at end of tail pipe. Am I starting to answer my own question? any way, figured y'all have had this experience already. Nothing terminal yet, I've got the replacement turbo in basement, 16T angled flange. Also QBM CBV rebuild kit and Forge spring and disc kit on the way. Peace and good health, thanks. klichty1004
Because of the increased usage of oil and running rich I am guessing your turbo is possibly going out on you. Check your intercooler hoses and see if there is a considerable amount of oil in them. Also, you could check for shaft play on your turbo. As for the pulsing you are experiencing, I really don't know what to tell you......
Pops Racer
Yeah it smells a little like a diesel furnace when I shut down. I'll check IC hoses this weekend. Still wondering about that pulsing even tho she goes real good until that point.
rp850
To check the stock CBV, trace the vac line from the CBV to the front of the intake manifold. Disconnect the line at the manifold and hook a vac test gauge to it (or if you don't have a gauge just suck on it and cover it with your tongue to see if it holds vacuum). If it doesn't hold or the gauge reading starts falling, then the CBV is leaking.I drive a 1995 855 t5 auto tranny. 15g conical, 165k miles, 2.5" catback, new silicone, stage0 complete.
