Timbo Slice
I have a pressure washer and, once I get the car back from the shop, I may consider spraying it down once a week just to get all the crud off. I have a feeling once spring time comes, a heavy clay bar session will be required.
mattsk8
I literally have not washed my car once since AT LEAST before Thanksgiving. There has been absolutely no point to wash it around here. By the time the roads dry up we get more snow and then it's back to salt spray. I know its cliche to say this when I live in the midwest, but man am I ever over winter. I still wash mine at least every other week. I know its a waste because the next day it'll be filthy again, but at least I can enjoy it for a few hours being clean. Saturday after I pulled it in to fix my parking brakes and realized I had to order the other cable as well, I figured I'd take advantage of the heat I made in the garage and went through the interior and fixed a couple rattles. The biggest one was the metal bar that runs across the bottom of the spare tire cover, pulled that off. That and a couple other little trim pieces that were squeaking and rattling. Amazing how much better it is. I anticipate using a lot of strip caulk on the interior trim once I put a sub in the car. I also go my radar detector hard wired in. thewhiteguy1
Same here, but only because people in DC don't really understand the logic behind snow, so they use about 15x the salt that is actually needed to keep the roads okay and it ends up creating potholes everywhere

I mean, it's just going to get dirty again when you take your next shit ? I get what you're saying, but I saw what leaving salt on the car did to a 42K mile car and I don't want to fight rust again. It's a pain. I did a drive through wash (touch free with the undercarriage nozzles) last week, in between two rounds of snow, just to get that little bit of crud off before it builds up again and eats up the car. Not the same problem on a 98, but still....

I'd assume its just oil on the highway from cars but its way too often and always on the highways. So insanely annoying when I'm driving long distances. Not the same problem on a 98, but still.... If my salty car was in the same place as my butthole I would probably wash it off every time it snowed and the roads are salted. But since my salty car is not in between my sitting cushions and does not provide me the same discomfort that residual poop does, I do not wash it every time it snows and gets covered in salt. Do you really want to know or was this just a rhetorical question? Dick Dastardly
I don't wash my car in the winter. Oh, wait... I don't drive it in the winter either. My 4runner is a perfect example of why you should wash your car regularly in the Midwest. What you can't see is what gets fucked up.

Burn-E
Probably not a coincidence, the crack finally dried up and it wasn't quite as messy of a wipe.
