matt b
Drove the XC up and down the block ! - Also WTF volvo on the sunroof and making that act retarded if the car hasnt been driven for awhile ? That and seat memory functions. Make sure you bleed your brakes properly.
Piston Slapper
Wish I was still in MD... Va YEARLY safety inspection @$15. Every 2 years emissions. Just passed mine last month, $40 for both. Helps having a friend that works in a shop to "pass" me, only issue is he's 30min away. Emission isn't statewide, just a NoVA hippie fart sniffer thing. And the safety inspection isn't hard to pass at all unless some shady shop is trying to get money off you, I wouldn't want to be on the road with cars that wouldn't pass. Timbo Slice
Looks fairly clean. Nice! On topic: technically yesterday: drove it 9 hours. Drove great, but I ordered my control arms today from Tasca. Good luck on the passenger side. Slight PITA.
JOHN_CENA
Finally installed my OBX downpipe and made a res delete. What a pain. But at least the turbo > downpipe bolts came out easy, so I got that going for me, which is nice
andyb5
Put the 98 AWD I bought recently up on the lift, found some fun stuff to fix Front passenger outer CV boot is torn Looks like the turbo drain seal is leaking Needs an oil change. Now, granted, its only been 5000 miles since the last one, but still.... And the rear diff is coated in oil - this pic is from the passenger side. It looks like the axle seal is leaking...? RobT5M
See now youve got me curious.I just placed an order for the rear R caliper brackets from CJ after talking to him. Those will hopefully be on my car next week.Tell me more about this 320mm upgrade... is it for the Fronts? What do they come on?I'm obviously doing some googling but its not getting me much info.(edits)Found this. >.<Do they bolt up, or need brackets.http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?121369-How-to-320mm-front-brakes-WITH-COMPAIRISON
andyb5
Those are for the front. They're a direct bolt-up option from the factory. They were a customer-ordered option from Volvos accessory catalog. You can try to order them now, but the caliper carrier are supposedly on permanent backorder aka NLA The brakes you saw in that link are the 320mm rotors/calipers from a P1 AWD. Totally 100% different than Dragos's setup. You can retrofit a set of those to work, there is a thread called "my 320mm BBK...by Volvo" in Performance with details. RobT5M
I'm seeing where people are doing custom brakets for them in the My 320Mm Bbk... By Volvo. But I want info on the direct bolt up calipers. These "Factory, direct bolt up option" from Volvo came on 98-00 70 series?Anndd were they more popular in the Euros then in the US?I might be able to get a few sets if I can get the info I need.
