DragosD
Thanks and good luck with your project, Andy. Rob, I've got my 320mm from Germany, I saw them mounted on a car on ebay.de and I asked the seller if he wouldn't mind selling the kit separate. We agreed on a price and got the calipers and the brackets in the mail. They are very hard to find, even in Europe. I purchased the rotors and pads from TASCA. P.S. I spoked with ATE, sent them the original label and filed the request with ATE Classic with no success - just keep in mind !!
andyb5
But I want info on the direct bolt up calipers. These "Factory, direct bolt up option" from Volvo came on 98-00 70 series? Anndd were they more popular in the Euros then in the US? I might be able to get a few sets if I can get the info I need. They weren't ever offered as standard equipment on any x70, an owner would have to order them from the factory accessory catalog. I'm sure you can go in the catalog and find the part numbers, or someone will be able to provide that info for you. The problem is that the carriers (holds the pads, and what physically bolts to the knuckle) is NLA from VCNA. The calipers are apparently the same as an Audi caliper, but without the carriers they are a nice paperweight at best. The rotors are supposedly still available but I'm sure they're $$$. Not to mention this is for a brake setup that is inferior to the Porsche/Brembo setup in many respects. If you want to really improve your brake setup past 302s, get a set of calipers from a 993TT, order brackets from CJ Yother (yother.com) and grab a set of S60R rotors, and you're good to go (or stop )

Blockpartie
Why can't people just link to where they take their pictures from? That is Gerry's picture you used for the label (it even has a watermark). Considering how you take down your pictures after like 6 months you could be at least considerate of the one that payed for the calipers and uploaded the pictures. Some more info on the 320mm setup: Caliper is made by ATE, FN3 series with a 57mm piston. Was used by Audi (and some other VAG cars) and GM (Opel/Vauxhall) for their cars as a factory installed brake. For Volvo they simply called the brake "FN3-57" which tells you more or less nothing. It's important to know that the more common "FN3 57/25" caliper only works with 25mm thick discs. Various discs are available for the setup like floating discs (Audi, Volvo) and conventionell discs (Audi, Opel, Vauxhall, others). Haven't found anyone producing aftermarket 5x108 bolt pattern discs, only the 5x110 used by Audi. Volvo only sold you the calipers together with the carriers. I've searched everywhere, but I didn't find any parts number for the carriers. Kit consisted of: -longer brake lines -320mm discs -bracket+caliper -different brake pads front (rear brake pads were required to be changed on some cars, but you had to buy those seperately) I sometimes think they used this brake system as a testbed for the 320mm brake that some P2X got. Probably ordered to many calipers/brackets and then decided to just sell them to the public.
Ghost Shadow
Andy wouldn't it be wise to fix oil return and axle first. Clean off all the oil. Then see what else is leaking? Put the 98 AWD I bought recently up on the lift, found some fun stuff to fix Front passenger outer CV boot is torn Looks like the turbo drain seal is leaking Needs an oil change. Now, granted, its only been 5000 miles since the last one, but still.... And the rear diff is coated in oil - this pic is from the passenger side. It looks like the axle seal is leaking...? Very Simple, I didn't put any credits to the picture because I don't remember where I got the picture from. I've never been volvo-welt.de. Have a nice day! Garry, thank you for the picture and I'm sorry if I upset you. It's not my style to steal anything from anyone, just tried to help Rob with more details BTW: You have a great spokesman on site.
