Guest Guest_quickwagon_*
Hate to tell you, but I had this happen as well. Had a small hard piece of plastic get caught in the tailgate...even after I got it out, it would NOT open. The only answer was the sawzall and a new latch. $400 bucks later it works. Good luck! cn90
Hate to tell you, but I had this happen as well. Had a small hard piece of plastic get caught in the tailgate...even after I got it out, it would NOT open. The only answer was the sawzall and a new latch. $400 bucks later it works. Good luck!My suggestions in order to save the rear hatch upholstery.1. Fold down the rear seat.2. Crawl on your stomach (don't eat a full meal before this job.... haha!)3. In the area of the latching mechanism near the bottom of the rear hatch: Cut a 4" x 6" (or larger if you wish) rectangle access hole but do not cut the top, so the top acts like a hinge (or flap). Trick:- Use a a drill and drill a tiny hole, only enough for the hacksaw to get through- Using a "drywall hack saw" $5 at hardware store, slowly cut around Both Sides and Bottom (sparing the top).4. try to release the latch from inside the trunkAfter all is done, use Velcro to seal the sides and bottom area.
