96PlatinumEdition850
So I was on my way to class on Monday and this car pulls out of a side street and hits the side of my car. I had the right away and it made no sense why the person pulled out because they hit me on the front door so clearly they had no chance on making it. I was traveling at 25 miles an hour because I was slowing down for a stop light and the speed limit is only 30 anyways.Got an estimate on the damage and they estimated $850.00 to fix it, my deductible is $250.00 so I got a check for $600.00 and then they also gave me a check for $300.00 because of the headache I had after the hit, not saying the headache was because of impact it was more likely from my anger. The shop that's doing the work also has a lifetime guarantee through Allstate(insurance co.) and if it winds up costing anymore they'll deal directly with Allstate. They'll be giving me a rental for the days the work is being done, all in all I'm happy with how things have been handled so far considering I've never had to do any of this before. Zappo
Your hosting service pwns me, no pics FTLWorks for me. You are the one who sucks at the internet. Why exactly did they only give you $300 if the cost to fix is $850? You get stuck with higher insurance because they only wanted to pay a third of the cost? 96PlatinumEdition850
Works for me. You are the one who sucks at the internet. Why exactly did they only give you $300 if the cost to fix is $850? You get stuck with higher insurance because they only wanted to pay a third of the cost?Sorry, it was written out wrong. I got $300.00 for the headache I suffered after the accident. I got $600.00 to pay for the cost of the repairs and I'll pay the $250.00 deductible. Edited my original postTHAT SUCKS! at least theres SOME money for ya... too bad, was the driver on a cell phone or something/ or just didn't see you...Driver was not on his cell phone or anything, I don't understand why on Earth they actually pulled out. Could have possibly been under the influence of something but it didn't seem like it to me.

matt b
Why is your deductible being factored in if you're not at fault ? Are you filing against your insurance ? If so, don't, make the other party, who's at fault, pay for everything, including the $300 headache.Sucks for the car, but it's really not bad. Like others said: most of it should buff out. ViperVette
Your wheels look blue.Nothin' wrong with that! lolSucks man. I can't believe its only costing 850$ to fix that. Body shops usually charge an arm and a leg. I hope the respray matches properly, that certainly would suck... Good luck, that platinum colour is sweet. Good luck, that platinum colour is sweet.I think that only the rear wheel arch will need repaint. If so, it should not be bad, but I agree that color matching will be crucial. The trim pieces can be had used for a song and a good buff on one side should not cost more than $100, max.
