Got Hit :(

Except, if you get new trim it won't match the old trim and you'll wind up replacing all of it including the door handles, and bumpers if your whack like me.

We need a thread dedicated to wrecks at this rate.

Sad, but true.

I meant that he should buy old trim and not new trim, or it will look like crap. If he replaces it with trim that has been sun dyed, it should match failry well.

Otherwise, time to get a few bottles of Kiwi shoe dye or Forever Black.

Well the reason I'm paying any money is because the driver didn't stick around after the accident, still managed to get a picture of their license plate which was a temporary tag and finally today I called the MVA investigative division and they told me the temporary tag number was registered to a 2007 Isuzu and I was hit by a late 90's early 2000's Ford Taurus station wagon. So no luck as to finding the real people as this tag was probably stolen off the Isuzu but it's being covered under my uninsured motors coverage and that's why my deductible is $250.00 and why I'm claiming it against my own insurance  Just found out like right now that we don't have much luck in tracking them down since the tag doesn't match the car. Unfortunately the police officer that responded to my accident wasn't much help and told me he wouldn't be able to find out anything on the temporary tag(lie).

Your wheels look blue.

haha they haven't been cleaned in a long time and they're due for a repaint but they look glossy black when they're clean.

Nothin' wrong with that! lol

Sucks man. I can't believe its only costing 850$ to fix that. Body shops usually charge an arm and a leg. I hope the respray matches properly, that certainly would suck... Good luck, that platinum colour is sweet.

They said they have a guarantee on all their work and that includes paint match. The guy at the shop told me it's still a factory paint code so they should still be able to do and they have a machine that mixes paints to exact color and can also age the paint so that sounded pretty sweet and I mean all I have is their word but I'm hoping for the best.

Sounds about right.

If they're willing to put a guarantee on their work, that's a very good sign.

Trust me, my exact thoughts too, I told them it'd be hard to reproduce the color but we'll see how well they do. I can only pray they do a good job and if they don't I guess I can argue it but I mean they can only match it so well and they won't be repainting the whole door only a portion and only a portion of the quarter panel so I imagine it won't be too noticeable if they don't match it 100% but I'm praying. Nov 30th I'll know.
