T-5Bandit
It would be for myself to beat someone with a C70. I say one thing and everyone know things that all i sit around and drag race people and think about drag racing, and that i'm speedracer. I love just to drive, and take a nice scenic route, and go through the twisties. But, i think most of my words were taken the wrong way. Doesn't mean i won't look at any other cars. I respect other cars, and i'm an enthusiast for all cars. The crumple zones on an S2000 are you.Anyway, this thread has gone way off topic and i think it should be closed, because i've got all the info i need. That makes things more clear. However, I wouldn't underestimate the safety of a lot of the newer cars. Volvo may have been ahead of its time in the late 90's in terms of their safety features (i.e. crumple zones and airbags), but most newer cars incorporate safety features that make them as safe, if not safer, than Volvos. Angry Lobster
Sorry but a C70 does not bring to mind "old people car". Everybody that has seen mine stares at it for the longest time trying to figure out what the hell it is, and when I tell them they still don't believe me.Obviously it isn't a sports car, but given speed limits, cops, and horrible roads, it doesn't really matter.Oh and don't forget the seats! They are by far the most comfortable I have ever sat in. Every time I give someone a ride, they refuse to get out of the car because the seats are so good.Nobody said it does, you are defending a car that was never attacked. I was referring to the general outlook on Volvo as a manufacturer, Safe, Sedate, Slow cars is the general concensus from those who are not aware. The C70 is a fabulous car!EDIT: I personally don't purchase cars with safety anywhere near my top 5 priorities. Call it ignorance or not ever being in a major accident, maybe even blind confidence in my driving ability.

ViperVette
yeah, the convertibles are hideous. good luck.By the look of your Sig down there, I'm beginning to think your not joking! Buy the C, you'll be happy with it. A few suspension tweaks (larger diameter rims, tower bar, links, sways) and it'll handle fabulously through the 'twisties'. Not really a racing car, but than again... no volvo is. Sorry to break it to you guys. It'll keep you going fast and looking good. Thats what the C is meant to do.
