blown_volvo850r
As most of you know, I have the stock Volvo RIP kit, which was recalled. The TB/IAC hose is ripped, and a stock replacement will not work. My plan is to use a silicone 45-degree elbow to replace it, then do a new lower intercooler pipe that has a nipple welded on to run a straight hose to the IAC, which is how the Samco RIP kit works. Problem is, I can't find an aluminum nipple online that will work. Any ideas? The new hose should be here within a week, and I'd like to get the nipple in as well so I can do a new lower intercooler hardpipe and get my new BOV installed. åtta femtio fem
im not for sure but i would say that any exhaust shop would be able to fab one up...
JHEIII874T5M
Samco RIP Kit? Whatcha talkin bout Willis?A 19 or 25mm nipple would probably work fine for the IAC.
blown_volvo850r
Couldn't find any aluminum nipples...I think what I'll do is go to Lowe's and get a small aluminum pipe that is the right OD and just have a muffler shop weld a bead around the end of it, then weld it to the new pipe. Already got an aluminum flange for the BOV and the 2.5-2.0" reducer elbow is ordered, so I should be set. The boost leak will finally be fixed...fake HKS is going to my roommate, and the ripped hose is going in the trash can.
randomdude
if you dont use your a/c, just take off your iac, and plug the line& cap the tree. i did and all's well.
Account_Deleted_T5M
Isn't the IAC an IDLE AIR CONTROL? I think it would be bad if it wasn't there
blown_volvo850r
Yeah IAC is idle air control...something I take out and clean every 10,000 miles or so. Makes a big difference when it's all clogged up.

randomdude
yes rob, it is the idle air controller, and actually the car runs fine without it. it does throw two codes, but the codes dont affect anything. its purpose is just to up the idle when you turn on the a/c and whatnot. i capped the tree where it hooked up, and pluged the intercooler hose with a huge plug. its completely gone. why would it run like stuff?
