The type of steel I'm not positive I mean those pictures show rust from about a 1 year and 2 months worth of it being on the car and sitting in the garage so that's not just 5k miles worth of rust. What you see it just surface rust and will not hurt the integrity of the DP. This is one of the DP I made and I will stand behind it.
