Right guys here's the situation.

Ive just replaced my Alpine CDM-9803R <_<

With one of these, a Alpine CDA-7893R :D

But now I want to upgrade the stock speaker. At pressent all I have are the ones in the dash, front doors and rear doors with none on the shelf.

(P.S. mine is a 850 Saloon)

I belive the correct size for the front and rear door to be 5 1/4" so I was looking at these 2 options

1) ALPINE SXE-1750S

SXE1750S.jpg

2) ALPINE SXE-1350S

SXE1350S.jpg

I was also thinking of some on the rear shelf but as yet haven't measured what the hole size is but at a guess either 5 1/4" or 6 1/2"

So the options are as follows

1) ALPINE SXE-1325S

SXE1325S.jpg

2) ALPINE SXE-1725S

What ones should I get the specs are pretty close and so are the prices.

Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it :)

if you are running of deck power, then i wouldnt really worry about it, the main limiting factor to your sound system will be the output of hte headunit, instead of hte speakres, just pick which ever one is hte cheaper one ;)

Also am I right on the size for the rear shelf ?

As for the price there the same so its the spec / fitment which will decide, will it not matter that one has a full mounting ring and the other has protruding fixing points, dont really want to start cutting things about ;)

well, if prices are the same, then go with the comp sets, but like i say, your main limiting factor is going to be the amount of clean power hte alpine headunit puts out, rather thant he speakres themselves, i have installed and/or worked with all the components you have listed :)

our 850s fit 5.25s front and rear doors, and 6x9s rear deck, BUT, they dont fit just ANY such sizes, usually one that is not to deep will fit better, so its hard to say if the speakres you listed will work in our cars with out and modifications...:)

Just to add to what will fit, larger 6x9s will not fit into the back deck. For example I have some Infinity Kappas that I got that will not fit no matter how hard I try to get them into there. I've heard that you can retrofit the stock black speaker boxes to fit the midline 5x7s into.
