Magnum PI
I am a newbie to the forum, but picked up a relative's immaculate S80 for my kids to drive. I drove it last night on a deserted road and noticed that the high beams do not stay on. I had to hold the stalk towards me to keep the high beams on. I may be missing something, but there is no detant where the brights stay on......any advice before I go to the dealter to get hosed?
Ihatespeedbumps
Probably just needs a turn signal switch. I think they are semi-pricey though.

I assume yours looks like this, which means it off? LIGHTS OFFTurn it to the on position, and then try your high beams. They should work without you holding it. :)

The brights don't work in the automatic on mode. First car I've owned with such a feature.

volvo4lif3
Actually down to $129 retail with trip computer did one yesterday lol, don't make the man spend any more than he has too You have DRL's on your s80 (daytime running lights) and they will always be on no matter what (unless the dealer turns this feature off) In order to turn on brights, the lights selector must be turn all the way up. Hope this helps.
