loudvolvo
id get an 02 extension harness from the dealership instead of splicing them, the harness is only like 8" long though...i had to use 2 of them for my rear 02. their about $30 ea. JMK33
Volvo makes an OEM extension, I dont have the P/N for it but im positve Joseph does.
96PlatinumEdition850
Why not just splice? It's not like splicing is hard and what's the difference between splicing and using a Volvo extension? Also is it bad if an o2 sensor gets water on it? loudvolvo
yea splicing is easy but the you would have to use wires of the same resistance and material. I was told by the parts manager at the dealership that the 02 sensor might not function properly if it is spliced. if i were you i would just use an extension harness, its a safer bet i think ipd has a picture of them on their website

Standard insulated copper wire works just fine. My volvo mechanic has been working on redblock and white block volvos for over 20 years and said he's spliced standard high quality copper cable to extend 02 sensors (both front and back) for years and never had a problem. To hell with paying $30+ for extensions. $.50 extension FTW.

96PlatinumEdition850
So I read in the thread posted that it was part #9202715 and that's a wiring harness. Is this wiring harness what I need or is there something out there known as an oxygen sensor extension?
