Che'_Moderator
so i have a spare hd and just installed it in not to sure i like it just want to see what other people thought about itUbuntu runs pretty slow and lacks a lot of drivers. For a server run slackware or CentOS, for a workstation run Suse.
T5BRICK
I ran Ubuntu on my MacBook Pro for a little while. Seemed kinda cool. I didn't find it very useful though. I prefer OSX.

T5BRICK
so how does the OSX run and can i use it on a P4 PC ?I'm sure it's do-able. Google will find the answer. It technically isn't legal so I'm not gonna talk about it.
caanglin
I liked it. I had it on a spare computer that was just folding 24/7. What kind of a video card do you have that isn't supported by Vista?
matt1122
Not a huge fan of Ubuntu, it seems a lot of pseudo-minimalists like it.If you think you might still want to play around with Linux, I strongly suggest trying out OpenSUSE 10.3. I'm using gnome w/ XGL (http://en.opensuse.org/Xgl) and Compiz (http://en.opensuse.org/Compiz) which can both be installed in 10.3 with just a single click and some minor configuration. I absolutely love it, and now that they fixed the Intel WiFi drivers I rarely find myself in Vista. If you don't like gnome, KDE4 RC2 is available, though I haven't gotten it to work yet (probably because I suck). Also, the software packages in OpenSUSE are great. OpenOffice 2.3, Firefox 2.0 and Pidgin make me quite happy. Not to mention all the free arcade type games.
