850 Dash & Center Console Qs

I have listed a lot of reason to do my dash as follows:

- try to get rid of dash squeaks

- replace the passenger airbag cover plate (part #9195025 gray)

- replace one busted dash bulb (plan to replace them all while in there)

(2 pcs) 966326 1.2 Bulb & socket (Trip Computer)

(3 pcs) 942571 3w Bulb ('main' cluster bulbs)

Do I have the right part# for above and are there really just 5 bulbs?

Also, while the dash is off, any way to get rid of this common annoyance (see pic) where the center dash edge kind of breaks off? (pix as posted by DS850R).

I'm concerned about the color matching of new passenger air-bag cover - am I better off replacing the entire dash cover if I can find one from a later model? Would the dash cover for 97 fit 94? How about center console, would 97 fit 94?

Thanks,

OrleeC

There are more than 5 lights for the speedo backlighting. I seem to remember 2 blinker lights, 2 trip computer lights, and 4 or 5 speedo/gas/tach backlights. Plus every gas light/low coolant/low oil/ every other indicator on that bottom row have individual lights.

The centre dash edge has a plastic tab that locates into the side of the top dash trim (the one that locates the vents etc).

While you have the dash pad off, get a heat gun and heat up the underside of the curvature where the tab is and while the plastic is still hot and pliable, pull it back so that it sits straight. You may have to repeat the process a few times, but it worked for me.
