Drive Shaft Problem? Maybe...

So last week i hit a curb on the right front wheel while talking a turn... hit some ice <_<

Anyway ever since then something seemed to be off. Today I finally got the chance to lift the car up and check things out. As I was removing the left (driver's) side front wheel the suspension seemed to have droped an inch or two... so when i had to put the wheel back on i had to lift the car up more. After getting the wheel back on I checked for movement (3 - 9oclock) and it's very mushy... Could this be my drive shaft? the center support bearing? Everything else seemed to be fine.

Check everything where the wheel connects to the front end: rod-ends, ball joints, even the drive shaft. If you're not sure what to look for, take it to an alignment shop and have them take a look. They're (usually :D ) trained to quickly spot problems like that so they don't waste time aligning the car.

Good luck!

Struts, spring seats, strut mount, ball joints, control arms, end links, sway bars are all fine. I believe it's the axle shaft... Could this cause an issue like this? Clunking, lot's of play in the wheel, wheel sagging more then normal when the car is raised??? I guess I will take it for an alignment and adress the issue, they definately will not be able to aline the car tho, it looks pretty bad... thanks guys!

I don't know... those things can't possibly all be fine if you've got lots of play and sagging: the axles don't hold anything in place. The steering knuckle is held up by the control arm and the strut, and is moved by the tie rod. Hmmm... sagging in what way? Wheel bearing?

I took a second look since the noise got much worse, my endlinks are shot so that problem is dealt with. The sagging didn't happen this time when I lifted the car, I think it could have been just the strut that got stuck a little. But I still have a whinning noise during acceleration and decceleration and also stiff points in the steering. I don't see any leaks, but will do a PS flush to start. Thanks for your help.
